1. The service

Chatimator is a browser-based tool for creating fictional chat conversations and exporting them as videos and images. The service is currently free while in beta. We may introduce paid tiers; features that are free today will remain free.

2. Acceptable use

Chatimator is for fiction, entertainment, marketing mockups, education and design work. You agree not to use it to:

  • defame, harass, impersonate or harm real people;
  • commit or facilitate fraud, scams or phishing;
  • fabricate evidence or mislead in legal, journalistic or official contexts;
  • create content that is illegal where you live.

Present fictional conversations as fictional. You are solely responsible for the content you create and how you use it.

3. Your content

Everything you create with Chatimator is yours. Because the tool renders locally in your browser, we never receive, store or claim any rights over your conversations, media or exports. You are responsible for having the rights to any images, sounds or other material you upload into your projects.

4. Trademarks

Apple, iMessage, iOS, WhatsApp, Instagram, Android, Google, ChatGPT and Claude are trademarks of their respective owners. Chatimator is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Apple Inc., Meta Platforms Inc., WhatsApp LLC, Google LLC, OpenAI or Anthropic. The visual styles reproduced by Chatimator are used for the purpose of creating clearly fictional content.

5. No warranty

The service is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep it fast and reliable, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted availability, and beta features may change or break.

6. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Chatimator and its creators are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the service, or from content you or others create with it.

7. Changes

We may update these terms as the product evolves; the "last updated" date above reflects the current version. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
